Just over two months weeks ago, I started at my new job as the online marketing manager at ActiveState. One of my many responsibilities for 2010 is to define it’s social media strategy, roll out the different tactics, grow/massage selected social media networks and to train other staff to participate. And so I was on my first mission, which was to hunt for my first productivity tool – a tool that a team can use for Twitter.Uncategorized | Tags: cotweet, easytweets, hootsuite, twaitter, tweetfunnel, tweetriver, twitter apps, twitter teams, twitter tools | Comments (5)
Well, it has been more than a year that I compiled a post “Every Twitter Term and Tool I Can Find”. It was my hottest blog post by far with over 140 inbound links and recurring traffic – it really surprised me (I’m not a popular blogger like Scoble). Soon after, I realized that Twitter apps were being developed at a very fast capacity and too fast for myself. I tried to keep up with listing the newest Twitter apps on my post, but I gave up and came to a conclusion that it would be a full-time gig – I needed to focus on my day job.
Someone Envisioned the Opportunity with Listing Twitter Tools and it Wasn’t Me
A newly launched website called oneforty, lists all the latest and greatest twitter apps by category and popularity. So, I guess I was on to something a year ago? hmmn. But Laura Fitton (@pistachio) took it further and executed a great website with search and a social element of rating and commenting all the different apps. I think it is a really great site and a good way for her to monetize her Twitter book and possibly get affiliate payouts for paid apps!Uncategorized | Tags: listorious, oneforty, twitter apps, twitter tools | Comments (8)
Did you know that pimping out your Twitter profile background can help your personal branding and marketing efforts? Don’t get the wrong idea of my term “pimping”. I do not mean that I am partaking in any kind of arrangement and opportunities for sexual intercourse with a prostitute. In the first years of the 21st century, a new meaning of the word has emerged in the form of a transitive verb which means “to decorate” or “to gussy” – mostly derived from “Pimp my Ride” show on TV. I’ve been very intrigued with twitter. It has been my source of interaction for the most part – I work on the computer day and night (ya I know I should get out more!). And I also use my iPhone to tweet while watching television. For those who don’t know, Twitter is a micro-blogging application that allows you to send updates (aka “tweets”) to the Twitter website and your twitter friends, similar to the Facebook status (with a limit of 140 character input). You can find and interact with people with similar interests. You can follow them, and others can follow you. It’s an instant-messaging-meets-social-media-networking tool.Uncategorized | Tags: twitter, twitter tips, twitter tools, twittonary | Comments (17)
